Fal Acquired Remade: Creative Transformation Goal

San Francisco, November 6, 2025 - Generative media platform fal announced the acquisition of Remade, a Y Combinator-backed startup that has developed an AI-based tool for creative and design teams. This marks fal's first acquisition since its founding in 2021.

Founded by Burkay Gur and Gorkem Yurtseven, fal offers serverless GPU infrastructure that provides developers with API access to over 600 image, video, and audio models. As of 2025, fal is one of 33 companies in the U.S. AI landscape that has raised over $100 million in funding. Its business clients include Adobe, Canva, Perplexity, and Shopify.

Christos Antonopoulos, co-founder and CEO of Remade, said, "While building Remade, we realized the value of fal in the generative media ecosystem. When we started talking to Burkay, it was incredible to hear his vision for the future of generative media, and we thought we had an opportunity to accelerate together."

Remade was founded in 2024 by Blendi Bylygbashi, Christos Antonopoulos, Alex Matthews, and Rehan Sheikh, all graduates of Cambridge University in computer science. The company developed an AI-based workspace for design and marketing teams, providing a unified interface for state-of-the-art image and video production models.

Remade's models have quickly achieved millions of productions. The open-source Wan 2.1 Video LoRAs have been downloaded over 250,000 times, becoming one of fal's most popular endpoints.

Earlier this year in February, fal surpassed 100 million generative media requests per day while maintaining an API uptime of 99.99%. fal collaborates with leading generative model companies such as Black Forest Labs, Google, Alibaba, ByteDance, and Hailuo.

fal launched a developer command environment that allows users to test multiple models against the same prompts. Christos Antonopoulos stated, "This was something we expected as developers. We will continue to gather feedback from our community and make enhancements to work better with any model on fal."

To support the generative media industry, fal offers research grants in the form of free computing resources to researchers and developers.
