


Turkey Statistical Institute (TÜİK) published the production data for milk and dairy products for September 2025. The figures indicate significant changes in milk production in Turkey.
In September, the amount of cow milk collected by commercial dairy enterprises decreased by 1.7% compared to the same month of the previous year, falling to 892,886 tons. In the January-September period, however, this amount realized an increase of 0.3%, reaching approximately 7.5 million tons compared to the same period last year.
Compared to the previous year, the amount of cow cheese produced in September increased by 1.3%, while there was a remarkable increase of 13.1% in the production of ayran and kefir. Yogurt production increased by 9.6%, and drinking milk by 2.5%. On the other hand, there was a 2.4% decrease in the production of butter and clarified butter.
In the January-September 2025 period, cow cheese production increased by 1.6%, ayran and kefir production by 8.9%, yogurt production by 4.9%, and drinking milk production by 7.4%. Production of butter and clarified butter also increased by 8.8%.
Drinking milk production, which was 132,359 tons in the previous month, rose by 4.8% in September, reaching 138,726 tons. This increase created a positive momentum in the dairy products market.
