


The Turkish Statistical Institute (TÜİK) has published the labor force statistics for September 2025. The unemployment rate remained stable at 8.6% in September.
The number of unemployed individuals aged 15 and older increased by 12 thousand compared to the previous month, reaching 3 million 75 thousand individuals. The unemployment rate for men was determined to be 7.4%, while for women it was 11.1%.
The number of employed individuals decreased by 200 thousand as of September 2025, totaling 32 million 491 thousand individuals. The employment rate was recorded at 48.9%, with 66.3% for men and 31.8% for women.
The labor force decreased by 188 thousand individuals, falling to 35 million 566 thousand as of September 2025. The labor force participation rate was determined to be 53.5%; with 71.6% for men and 35.7% for women.
The unemployment rate for the youth population aged 15-24 dropped to 14.9% as of September 2025. In this age group, the rate for men is estimated to be 11.4%, while for women it is 21.4%.
The rate of idle labor force, which includes the underemployed and potential labor force alongside the unemployed, was 28.6%. The integrated rate of underemployment and unemployed individuals was determined to be 18.0%, while the integrated rate of unemployed and potential labor force was 20.5%.
