Türkiye Economic Confidence Index Rises

The Turkish Statistical Institute (TÜİK) announced the economic confidence index for September.

August and September Data

According to the data, while the economic confidence index was 97.9 in August, it increased by 0.1% in September, reaching a value of 98.

Consumer and Sectoral Confidence Indexes

Additionally, confidence indexes for various sectors in September shaped up as follows:

  • Consumer confidence index: Decreased by 0.4% to 83.9
  • Real sector (manufacturing industry) confidence index: Increased by 0.2% to 100.8
  • Services sector confidence index: Decreased by 0.1% to 111.0
  • Retail trade sector confidence index: Increased by 0.4% to 109.2
  • Construction sector confidence index: Increased by 3.6% to 88.3

Decrease in Consumer Confidence

On the other hand, the expectation for the general economic situation in the next 12 months, which is a sub-component of the consumer confidence index, has been declining for the last four months, reaching its lowest level for 2025.

Meaning of Index Values

The economic confidence index is evaluated within the 0-200 range. An index value greater than 100 indicates optimism regarding the general economic situation, while a value less than 100 indicates pessimism.
