


Sentix, which conducts research on the markets and is based in Frankfurt, shared the Euro Area General Investor Confidence Index data for the December 2023 period.
According to the announced data, the Euro Area General Investor Confidence Index, which was at minus 7.4 in November, rose to minus 6.2 this month, increasing by 1.2 points. Expectations for the index were that it could rise to minus 7 in December.
The Expectations Index, which reflects investors' expectations for the next six months, increased from 3.3 to 4.8. The Current Situation Index reached minus 16.5, up from minus 17.5.
Sentix noted in its statement that the Euro Area economy continues to follow a generally stagnant course, while it was highlighted that Germany, the largest economy in the region, remains under the effects of recession.
Additionally, it was stated that a recovery process is being observed in the global economy, supported by positive data from countries in Eastern Europe, Latin America, and China.
The investor confidence survey was conducted with the participation of a total of 1063 investors between December 4-6, 2023.
On the other hand, for Germany, the largest economy in the Euro Area, the Sentix Investor Confidence Index fell by 2.3 points to minus 22.7 in December. This situation is recorded as the lowest level the index has seen since April 2025.
In Germany, the Current Situation Index also declined from minus 38.3 points to minus 41.8 points.
