President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan emphasized in his speech at the Turkey-Africa 5th Business and Economic Forum, held at the Istanbul Congress Center, that Turkey is always open for investors. Congratulating the Ministry of Trade, Foreign Economic Relations Board (DEIK), and other relevant institutions for their efforts in organizing the event, Erdoğan noted that the forum has become an important platform since its first organization in 2016.
Erdoğan stated, “I wholeheartedly wish for the forum to be beneficial and to create a ground for new partnerships.” He expressed that valuable assessments were made in important sectors such as agriculture, food, textiles, energy, mining, and health during the two-day forum. Participants from Africa had the opportunity to convey the investment environment in their countries to the Turkish business community.
President Erdoğan highlighted Turkey's rapidly growing economy and developing investment environment, as well as the advantages of its geographical location at the center of three continents. He stated, “Turkey's door is wide open to every investor from different regions of the world.” He emphasized that all state institutions are determined to provide the necessary support for anyone wishing to invest.
Erdoğan said that Turkey-Africa relations have made significant progress over more than 20 years, using the expression, “Our national income has approached 17 thousand dollars.” As a member of the G20, Turkey is the world's 17th largest economy at current prices and aims to rise to 11th place by 2024.
Erdoğan remarked that Turkey has historically brought peace, tranquility, and love wherever it has gone, stating, “We have developed our relations with the continent with sincerity.” He added that he believes the upcoming Turkey-Africa partnership summit will contribute to the development of the continent.
