President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, marking 2026 as a reform year for the Turkish economy, announced inflation targets in his speech at the Grand National Assembly of Turkey. Erdoğan said, "We plan to bring inflation down to below 30% by the end of this year."
Erdoğan emphasized that access to finance has become easier, stating that costs have significantly decreased. He said, "With the decrease in risk premium, confidence in the TL has started to increase. Our risk premium and borrowing costs have also decreased."
Furthermore, Erdoğan stated that value-added increase was experienced in all sectors except the agriculture sector due to agricultural frost, evaluating the general state of the economy in a positive light.
