Enzim Devi Novonesis Hit with Penalties for Competition Violation

Novonesis Group is facing a heavy penalty for abusing its dominant position in the industrial enzyme market and violating competition rules. The Competition Authority has identified the company's exclusionary commercial practices against its competitors and imposed an administrative fine of approximately 285 million TL on Novonesis.

Investigations revealed that Novonesis engaged in practices that undermined the true competitive environment in the market. The company consistently guaranteed its customers prices much better than its competitors, while also providing additional discounts for larger purchases. However, this situation included not only a financial incentive but also aimed to erode the market share of rival firms.

The Competition Authority emphasized that Novonesis imposed conditions on purchasing rival products through its practices. In this context, the company's commercial strategies aim to weaken the ability of other firms in the sector to exist in the market. Such practices, conducted in violation of the fundamental principles of competition law, threaten not only a company's profits but also the overall dynamism of the sector.
