Elon Musk, the billionaire and CEO of xAI, has announced that he is open to collaboration with Apple Inc.. He aims to offer integration of Grok into the Cupertino-based tech giant's voice assistant Siri.
On Monday, a user on the social media platform X, using the pseudonym X Freeze, suggested that Apple should "fix" its antiquated voice assistant by integrating Grok 4.1 with Siri. Musk indicated his agreement with this suggestion, stating, "I'm ready," sharing his enthusiasm for the potential collaboration.
These developments come in the wake of Ross Gerber, the co-founder of investment firm Gerber Kawasaki, proposing that Apple should replace Siri with Alphabet Inc.'s AI model Google Gemini. Gerber emphasized that a collaboration between Apple and Google is "destiny."
Musk also brought up the possibility of a merger between Tesla Inc. and xAI, stating that both ventures are "heading toward coming together." He noted that Tesla had refused to invest in xAI during the annual shareholders meeting held earlier this month.
On the other hand, Musk announced that the latest version of the Grok AI model, Grok 5, will be released in the first three months of 2026. This indicates a delay from previous plans that aimed to launch the model by the end of 2025.
Additionally, Musk commented on reports regarding Jeff Bezos, the founder of Amazon.com Inc., being accused of being a "copycat" for launching an AI company named Project Prometheus. This project could escalate the competition between Musk's SpaceX and Bezos's Blue Origin.
Musk also defended against investor Jim Chanos' criticisms that Tesla has not spent enough on AI training for its Full Self-Driving (FSD) system. Musk stated that the company prefers to cut expenses because it is not yet a "Limiting Factor" for FSD.
