Market participants' inflation expectations showed a significant rise in October. According to the results of the survey conducted by the Central Bank of the Republic of Turkey (CBRT), the expected inflation rate after 12 months reached 23.26 percent. This value was recorded as only 22.25 percent in the previous survey.
The participants' expectations for the year-end consumer inflation also increased. This rate, which was 29.86 percent in the previous survey period, rose to 31.77 percent in October, drawing attention.
The expectation for the Consumer Price Index (CPI) after 24 months was 17.36 percent in the October survey period. In the last survey, this expectation was established at 16.78 percent.
The expectation for the policy interest rate of the CBRT for the Monetary Policy Committee meeting to be held in October was also determined to be 39 percent in this survey period.
