A New Era Begins for Digital Yuan

The People's Bank of China will launch a new digital yuan framework starting from January 1st. With this framework, commercial banks will begin to pay interest to holders of the digital currency. Thus, the digital yuan will evolve from merely being digital cash to becoming a digital deposit currency.

Additionally, to enhance the global influence of the digital yuan, an international digital yuan operations center is proposed in Shanghai. This initiative aims to strengthen the role of the digital yuan in international markets.
