DeFi protocol Spark announced that it has suspended the launch of its mobile application. The company prefers to focus on DeFi-oriented cryptocurrencies, which are its core competencies. Additionally, it was noted that the competitive market environment is behind this decision.

Instead of developing a mobile application, Spark plans to focus on liquidity infrastructure and agreements. In this context, the recent $1 billion investment by PayPal in the PYUSD stablecoin is noteworthy. The company aims to provide solutions for institutional use cases.

This development comes at a time when another major DeFi player, Aave, announced the launch of its retail earnings application. Spark's CEO expressed good wishes to Aave while also emphasizing the competitive nature of the market.
