DCAI's Investment in the Future with NVQLink

DCAI, a company operating Denmark's artificial intelligence supercomputer Gefion, announced its support for NVIDIA NVQLink. This new open reference architecture marks a significant step towards preparing a future where AI and quantum computers work together by connecting GPU-based supercomputers with quantum processors (QPU).

NVQLink provides ultra-low latency and high data flow between classical and quantum systems, paving the way for hybrid workflows that combine AI-powered data processing with quantum algorithms. Integrated with the NVIDIA CUDA-Q platform, NVQLink allows developers to manage two types of computing resources in a unified software environment in real time.

DCAI CEO Nadia Carlsten stated, "We believe that the future of computing involves seamless collaboration between AI and quantum computers. Supporting NVQLink aligns perfectly with our strategy to provide customers with access to advanced and flexible infrastructure that evolves with the technology landscape." She also emphasized that the maturation of quantum hardware is still ongoing and that NVQLink’s open and universal nature is critical for innovation.

An Open Path for Advanced Hybrid Computing

As quantum technologies continue to advance across different fields, such as trapped ions, superconductors, photonics, and other hardware types, DCAI believes that open standards like NVQLink are critical for interoperability and long-term flexibility. By integrating NVQLink into its infrastructure strategies, DCAI offers customers the opportunity to explore hybrid applications without being tied to a specific quantum architecture or vendor ecosystem.

NVIDIA Quantum General Manager Tim Costa remarked, "NVIDIA NVQLink closes the gap to tightly integrated quantum-GPU supercomputers of the future. The work at DCAI is crucial for the practical transition of hybrid quantum-classical computing and provides researchers and businesses with access to the necessary integrated quantum-GPU systems."

A Strong History of Quantum Collaboration

DCAI has made significant contributions to the development of quantum computers. In collaboration with Ansys and NVIDIA, the Gefion supercomputer has performed GPU-accelerated simulations of quantum algorithms for fluid dynamics engineering applications within a hypothetical 39 qubit system. This work demonstrates how AI and quantum can come together and accelerate real-world engineering workflows.

Additionally, DCAI is supporting groundbreaking research at the University of Copenhagen. Researchers have achieved over a 100% improvement in algorithmic efficiency by simulating a 40 qubit noise-free quantum computer with the Gefion supercomputer. The project demonstrates DCAI's commitment to bridging the gap between artificial intelligence and quantum computing by investigating drug-docking simulations for cancer research and future hybrid quantum-classical architectures.

With the NVQLink initiative, DCAI further strengthens Denmark's role as an advanced computing hub in Europe and supports a growing community of researchers and innovators exploring the intersection of artificial intelligence and quantum technologies.
