According to a statement by the Presidency's Communication Directorate, President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan conducted a phone call with Russian President Vladimir Putin, during which they made a thorough assessment of Turkey-Russia bilateral relations as well as regional and global issues.
During the call, Erdoğan expressed Turkey's active efforts regarding the establishment of a ceasefire in Gaza and the delivery of humanitarian aid to the region. In this context, he emphasized the importance of international cooperation.
Moreover, Erdoğan underscored the necessity for diplomatic initiatives to accelerate in order to achieve a just and lasting peace in the Ukraine-Russia war, highlighting Turkey's determination to contribute to peace efforts.
During the phone call, President Erdoğan also congratulated Putin on his birthday, emphasizing the importance of personal relationships.
