Citi has issued critical warnings regarding the ongoing rally in the US technology sector. Analysts led by Chris Montagu stated that the risks of profit realization are increasing across the markets, particularly in the Nasdaq, and this could hinder further rises.
According to Citi's latest weekly analysis, risk flows for US stocks have resumed, and new long positions are on the rise. Strategists noted, “We are observing bullish positions for both large and small-cap companies.”
The optimistic sentiment in the artificial intelligence sector is noted to have overshadowed economic threats such as a potential government shutdown or trade tariffs, creating positive effects on the stock market. Data compiled by Bloomberg shows that the Nasdaq 100 index has had 30 record closing days, compared to 45 record closings a year ago.
