According to the China Agricultural Supply and Demand Estimates (CASDE) report published by the Ministry of Agriculture of China, the corn production forecast for the 2025-26 season is estimated at 300 million tons. This figure marks the highest production level seen since 1949.
This increase in production expectations is supported by significant improvements in yields. The new estimate shows an increase of 1.3 percent compared to last month. The report emphasizes that the heavy rains experienced in the northern regions of the country could negatively affect production in some areas, but did not impact the overall production outlook.
Another detail mentioned in the report is the soybean production forecast. Due to adverse weather conditions, this estimate has shown a slight decline. The poor weather in some northern regions and southern areas has led to a decrease in the total production expectation to 20.9 million tons. However, it has been noted that yields remain high in the main production centers in the northeastern part of the country.
On the other hand, the cotton production forecast has been revised upwards due to favorable weather conditions. The cotton production estimate for the 2025-26 period is announced to be 6.6 million tons.
These estimates cover the October 2025 - September 2026 period for the 2025-26 marketing year.
