According to the China Agricultural Supply and Demand Estimates (CASDE) report published by the Ministry of Agriculture of China, the corn production forecast for the 2025-26 season has been set at 300 million tons. This figure represents the highest production level seen since 1949.
This increase in production expectations is supported by significant improvements in yields. The new estimate shows a 1.3 percent increase compared to last month. The report emphasizes that while severe rainfall in the northern regions may adversely affect production in some areas, it does not impact the overall production outlook.
Another detail highlighted in the report is the soybean production forecast. Due to adverse weather conditions, this forecast has shown a slight decline. The poor weather in certain areas of the north and south has led to a reduction in total production expectations to 20.9 million tons. However, it has been noted that yields are high in the main production centers in the northeast of the country.
On the other hand, the cotton production forecast has been revised upwards due to favorable weather conditions. The cotton production estimate for the 2025-26 period has been announced as 6.6 million tons.
These forecasts encompass the October 2025 - September 2026 period related to the 2025-26 marketing year.
