Energy Cooperation with BUÜ and UEDAŞ: Future-Oriented Projects

During the strategic meeting held at the General Directorate of UEDAŞ, the first steps were taken for a significant collaboration between Bursa Uludağ University (BUÜ) and UEDAŞ. The meeting was attended by BUÜ Vice-Rector Prof. Dr. İrfan Kırıştıoğlu, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering Prof. Dr. Adem Akpınar, R&D Coordinator Prof. Dr. Esra Karaca, many other academics, and UEDAŞ management.

In his speech, Prof. Dr. İrfan Kırıştıoğlu emphasized the importance of university-private sector collaboration, stating, “Bursa Uludağ University, with the responsibility of being a research university, considers establishing strong relationships with industry as one of its primary goals. We are ready to develop studies that can contribute to UEDAŞ’s agenda with the competence of our academic staff and the facilities of our faculties.”

UEDAŞ General Manager Cihangir Gençoğlu, on the other hand, expressed his belief that the cooperation would bring significant benefits not only to the university but also to the energy sector and the environment. Experts such as Investment Director Ahmet Berk and R&D Director Mehmet Koç stated that innovative projects, in addition to traditional methods, should be implemented.

During the meeting, ideas were shared on how academic studies could address UEDAŞ's needs, while key topics such as energy efficiency, sustainability, and technology integration were also discussed. Bursa Uludağ University's comprehensive research facilities offer a great advantage for projects to be carried out with UEDAŞ.

This collaboration between BUÜ and UEDAŞ is expected to guide developments in the energy sector in the future and contribute to the integration of academic research into industry. Both institutions aim to increase Turkey's competitiveness in the energy sector through efficient use of resources and innovation-focused projects.
