Significant Agreement Between BOTAŞ and Mercuria

Minister of Energy and Natural Resources Alparslan Bayraktar announced the signing of an important LNG supply agreement between BOTAŞ and Mercuria, an international energy company.

Long Term LNG Supply Agreement

Bayraktar said on social media, "We have taken a new step in natural gas trade, which will be an important issue in the meeting of our President Mr. Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and US President Donald Trump at the White House." Starting in 2026, the deliveries will supply approximately 4 billion cubic meters of natural gas equivalent LNG annually.

Details of the Agreement

A total of approximately 70 billion cubic meters of LNG will be supplied under the agreement. This natural gas will be delivered both from loading terminals in the US and from gasification facilities in Turkey, Europe and North Africa. The agreement, which is said to increase BOTAŞ's efficiency in global LNG trade, is also expected to support Turkey's long-term supply security and price stability.

Future Vision

Bayraktar wished the agreement to be beneficial for the country and all stakeholders and emphasized that it represents an important step in Turkey's vision of diversifying its energy resources.
