In global markets, the increasing risk appetite following the reopening of the US federal government has a positive effect on investors, leading to a bullish trend in indices. This situation paints an encouraging picture for stock market investors, while also drawing attention to a noticeable recovery in domestic markets.
After experiencing sharp losses at the beginning of the week, Borsa Istanbul had a buying-weighted appearance yesterday and took a breather. The BIST 100 index closed on Wednesday with a gain of %0.61. Thus, it managed to recover some of the %3.21 decline it experienced in the last two trading days. Today, the positive trend continues with an increase at the opening.
At the opening, the BIST 100 index rose to 10,675.39 points, up by 34.54 points and %0.32 from the previous close. The banking index increased by %0.41, while the holding index rose by %0.35. Among sector indices, the largest increase was seen in the mining sector with %1.80. The only sector to decline was the stone and earth sector, down by %0.24.
Today, housing sales and weekly money and bank statistics will be monitored domestically. Internationally, data on growth and trade balance from England, as well as industrial production figures from the Eurozone, will be observed. Analysts indicate that, technically, the BIST 100 index has resistance at the 10,700 and 10,800 levels, while 10,600 and 10,500 points serve as support.
