BIST 100 Index Situation by the End of 2025

The BIST 100 index, traded on Borsa Istanbul, concluded the last trading day of 2025, Wednesday session, with a gain of %0.37 at 11,261.52 points. The index increased by %3.33 on a monthly basis, providing a return of %14.56 since the beginning of the year. Despite fluctuations in the markets, this performance, which has brought a smile to investors' faces, particularly gained remarkable momentum in the later months of the year.

Mixed Trend in Sub-Indexes

The BIST 30 index closed at 12,223.61 points, showing an increase of %0.17. Its monthly increase is %2.62, while the overall performance for 2025 is recorded as %13.64. The BIST 50 index rose by %0.27, reaching 9,769.59 points, achieving a monthly return of %2.96 and a %12.85 return since the beginning of the year. On the other hand, the BIST 500 index experienced a limited increase of %0.01, closing at 14,029.89 points; it gained %4.00 monthly and %23.15 throughout 2025.

Close Look at Sector Indices

The banking index increased by %1.18, reaching 16,540.04 points, thus positively distinguishing itself under current market conditions. Its monthly return is %4.33, while the performance for 2025 is recorded as %13.64. The industrial index closed at 14,013.12 points with an increase of %0.22; its monthly rise is %3.49, and its year-to-date return is %7.35.

Other Sector Performances

The services index rose by %0.21 to 10,559.62 points. Its monthly change is %1.57, and the change for 2025 is %10.13. The transportation index finished the day with a decrease of %0.08, closing at 34,500.04 points and declining %1.70 on a monthly basis. The index's performance in 2025 showed an increase of %1.62. However, the financial index saw a drop of %0.38 to 16,355.07 points, although its monthly gain was recorded at %3.23. The noteworthy %39.10 change in the financial index for 2025 is a significant signal for restructuring in the sector.
