Bitcoin ETFs See Billion-Dollar Inflows: Aligning with Historical Peaks

Cryptocurrency News
Record inflows into Bitcoin ETFs are causing concerns among investors. Similar situations in the past have indicated short-term peaks.

Recently increased investor interest has led to notable fluctuations in the Bitcoin market. Bitcoin Exchange Traded Funds (ETFs) in the US recorded over $1 billion in inflows again. A significant portion of this amount was due to a $970 million investment in BlackRock's iShares Bitcoin Trust (IBIT). According to Farside data, this marks the seventh time that US ETFs have exceeded this level.

Interestingly, historical data shows that such high inflows have often coincided with short-term correction periods in Bitcoin's price. For example, after a similar inflow in March 2024, Bitcoin reached a peak of $74,000 within two days. However, the inflows in November 2024 also resulted in declines following the $100,000 level.

Similar instances were observed in 2025: consecutive inflows of around $1 billion in July resulted in Bitcoin reaching a short-term peak of $123,000. This suggests that such inflows may have an impact on price movements for investors.

Notably, BlackRock's IBIT fund has exhibited remarkable performance in the past. Bloomberg ETF analyst Eric Balchunas announced that IBIT has now become BlackRock's most profitable ETF. The fund reached an asset size of nearly $100 billion, generating an annual income of $244.5 million. According to Balchunas, IBIT broke records by reaching this size in just 435 days, while the second fastest fund to reach the same level was Vanguard S&P 500 ETF (VOO), completing this process in 2,011 days.

As of now, Bitcoin is trading at approximately $124,000. If history repeats itself, a short-term price peak may occur following this massive ETF inflow. Investors should closely monitor these fluctuations in the Bitcoin market and be prepared for potential price movements.
