BIST 100 Index Weekly Developments

The BIST 100 index saw a lowest point of 10,870.07 points and a highest point of 11,201.69 points during the past week. The index closed the week at 11,007.37 points, which is 1% above its previous close, giving hope to investors.

Increase in Gold Prices

The selling price of 24-carat gold bullion, a safe haven for investors, rose to 5,788 liras with an increase of 1.21% this week. A similar increase was observed in the price of Republic gold, which gained 1.20%, reaching 39,030 liras.

On the other hand, the price of a quarter gold rose to 9,695 liras, an increase of 1.21% from 9,579 lira last week.

Exchange Rates and Investment Funds

In foreign exchange rates, the Dollar gained 0.07% this week, reaching 42.5150 liras, while the Euro rose by 0.71% to 49.5840 liras.

Investment funds gained 1.21% on a weekly basis, while pension funds showed an increase of 0.86%. Among the fund categories, the highest gain was provided by "fund basket" funds at 1.77%.
