The world's largest cryptocurrency exchange, Binance, announced an important development that affects its users. The SLERF (SLERF) altcoin's Tether (USDT) perpetual futures contracts will be delisted from the platform on October 20, 2025. Similarly, the cryptocurrency-backed (COIN-M) perpetual futures contracts for Chiliz (CHZ) will be delisted on October 21, 2025.

Binance reminded users that all open positions will be automatically closed on both dates. The announcement emphasized that investors need to close their positions for SLERF/USDT contracts by October 20 at 12:00 UTC and for CHZ/USD contracts by October 21 at 13:00 UTC to avoid potential risks. It was also stated that the possibility of opening new positions will be completely disabled on the specified dates.

Binance advised users to closely monitor their open positions, stating that the Futures Insurance Fund will not be used in the last hour before the closure and that any liquidations that occur during that time will be reflected in the market via "Immediate or Cancel Order" (IOCO). If this process does not reduce the positions to an adequate level, the remaining portions will be closed through the Auto-Deleveraging (ADL) process. The exchange also mentioned that it could take additional security measures against extremely volatile market conditions.

These security measures may include changes to the maximum leverage ratio, updates to maintenance margins, and adjustments to funding rates. Users were reminded to consider the risks of high volatility and low liquidity during this process.

According to CoinGecko data, SLERF experienced significant price volatility after the delisting news. The price surged from around $0.06109 to $0.07861, marking an increase of nearly %30. This situation has led to intense interest from investors in SLERF and has been regarded as a development that affects market dynamics.
