Treasury and Finance Minister Mehmet Şimşek announced that he has designated the year 2026 as the "Year of Reform," stating that they will focus on the efficient use of resources in the industrial sector during this period. Şimşek emphasized that they will accelerate policies prioritizing employment, productivity, and sustainability in industry.
In a statement made on social media, Şimşek highlighted the industrial production index data for the period of November 2025. Şimşek noted that growth observed in the manufacturing industry occurred in 19 out of 24 sub-sectors on a monthly basis. This indicates a general improvement in industrial production.
The strong performance in capital goods and high technology groups has increased Turkey's high value-added production potential, according to Şimşek, who stated that this situation will positively contribute to medium- and long-term growth strategies.
Minister Şimşek added that with the reform policies to be implemented in 2026, resources will be used efficiently, employment policies will be prioritized, and productivity and competitiveness in the industry will be enhanced.
