Daily Report
Minister Işıkhan criticized the CHP municipalities regarding environmental issues in İzmir, stating that urgent solutions are needed for the cleanliness of the city.

Speaking at the AK Party İzmir Provincial Advisory Council Meeting, Minister Işıkhan emphasized that the İzmir Metropolitan Mayor and the responsibilities of the CHP municipalities are not being fulfilled. Işıkhan stated that they have been serving Turkey for 23 years and expressed their efforts to fulfill their responsibilities towards the citizens.

Işıkhan criticized İzmir’s current situation, particularly the garbage and environmental issues, and made serious accusations. Stating that “Izmir is unmanageable due to mountains of garbage and odor,” Işıkhan pointed out that this situation leads to environmental disasters observed in various locations almost every day. He specifically highlighted the conditions in districts like Çiğli, Karşıyaka, Buca, and Bayraklı, adding that instead of flowers, garbage mounds have grown in these areas.

The Minister stated, "The CHP needs to learn the ability to collect garbage, clean the streets, and even fulfill the simplest municipal services," expressing that the current administration cannot meet the fundamental needs of the public. He argued that urgent measures need to be taken regarding cleanliness and environmental arrangements to protect İzmir's historical and cultural richness.

Işıkhan pointed out that the AK Party will continue its efforts to provide İzmir and Turkey with a cleaner environment through a sound management approach. He indicated that the central government also needs to intervene to solve İzmir's problems, emphasizing that citizens have the right to live in a clean environment.

During the meeting, while evaluating the general situation across İzmir province, solution proposals were also discussed. Minister Işıkhan stated that İzmir faces serious issues not only with garbage and environmental matters but also with social services, transportation, and infrastructure. He noted that efforts need to be accelerated to make İzmir a more livable city with a solution-oriented approach.
