Trade Minister Ömer Bolat made important evaluations to the media at the 2nd Turkey-Azerbaijan Investment Forum held in Baku.

New Goals in Trade Relations

Bolat stated that discussions between private sector representatives and government officials are actively ongoing at the forum, saying, "We are all-out striving towards much higher targets in the economy and trade between Turkey and Azerbaijan."

Hopes for a Free Trade Agreement

Expressing that they have started to see positive results from the preferential trade agreement that entered into force in 2021, Bolat said, "We wish to establish a free trade agreement between Turkey and Azerbaijan. The technical teams of both governments are in discussions and conducting analysis and evaluation studies on this matter. Hopefully, we will achieve this in due course as well."
