Baidu and PostBus have formed a strategic partnership to launch a new smart transportation service called AmiGo in eastern Switzerland. This collaboration aims to complement the existing public transportation system.

The initial fleet tests are set to begin in December 2025 in three cantons of Switzerland, with plans to transition to regular operations by the first quarter of 2027. Once officially launched, the fully driverless service will have a capacity for four passengers and will enable vehicle sharing, optimizing vehicle usage.

This partnership is strongly supported by various institutions such as the St. Gallen, Appenzell Ausserrhoden, Appenzell Innerrhoden, and Thurgau cantons, as well as the Federal Office of Transport and the Federal Roads Office. Supportive structures will enable the smooth implementation and further development of the service.

Baidu is making an important step in the field of autonomous transportation with Apollo Go, contributing to the international expansion of this service. Apollo Go operates more than 1,000 autonomous vehicles worldwide and has covered 200 million autonomous kilometers. It is currently active in 16 cities including Dubai, Abu Dhabi, and Hong Kong.

PostBus General Manager Stefan Regli stated, “With AmiGo, we are bringing the future of transportation to eastern Switzerland; flexible, digital, and fully aligned with our customers' needs.”

The initial pilot test will start in December 2025 and will be expanded to a specific user group in the first half of the year, with driverless tests expected to begin in the later part of 2026.
