At the NATO meeting held in Bucharest, ASELSAN CEO Ahmet Akyol stated that they anticipate exceeding their expectations for double-digit growth. ASELSAN, the only company from Turkey participating in the meeting, discussed important defense industry issues with NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte.
Akyol emphasized that developments in the defense industry, NATO's regulatory proposals, and strategies for increasing production were discussed at the meeting. Akyol said, "Representatives from major firms like Lockheed Martin were also present. We shared our proposals and exchanged ideas on joint strategies."
Akyol announced that they signed an important collaboration agreement with Romarm in Romania. "With this collaboration, we aim to develop production and projects in Romania," he emphasized, stating that they aim to increase their potential in the European market.
Highlighting ASELSAN's financial results, Akyol said, "Our quarterly results show double-digit growth. Our cash flow is positive, our R&D investments have increased by 40%, and we are continuing our growth by reducing our debt levels." Akyol noted that the current backlog is at a historic high of 17.9 billion dollars, stating that this situation guarantees sustainable growth in the coming years.
Akyol pointed out that the 171% increase in export contracts is a positive development for them. Additionally, he stated that their savings on artificial intelligence projects in the past year have been approximately 35 million dollars: "Artificial intelligence has become an important layer in our processes, and we are increasing our successes," he said.
