Tomorrow, various events will be held in central locations of the city to celebrate the 102nd anniversary of Ankara becoming the capital. According to a statement made by the Ankara Provincial Police Department, some roads will be closed to traffic starting from 08:30 in the morning.
In this context, the section of Cumhuriyet Avenue between Baruthane Junction and Ulus Junction will be completely closed until the events are over. Additionally, Çapa Street will also be closed to traffic in both directions.
During the events, if necessary, Çankırı Avenue, Atatürk Boulevard, Anafartalar Avenue, Hisar Park Street, İpek Street, Bedesten Street, Gözcü Street, Kalekapısı Street, Alitaş Street, and other roads connecting to the walking route may also be closed to traffic in both directions. This measure is taken to regulate traffic flow and ensure that the celebrations take place peacefully.
These traffic changes in major streets of the city may affect drivers throughout the day. Therefore, it is strongly recommended that residents of Ankara and visitors to the city use alternative routes. Additionally, it is expected that the use of public transportation, which plays a significant role in urban mobility, will be encouraged.
The 102nd anniversary of Ankara becoming the capital is not just a historical event; it also constitutes an important part of the cultural and social life of the city. Such events provide an opportunity for residents to come together and unite.
