The European Statistical Office (Eurostat) has released data on tourist accommodations in European Union (EU) member countries for the year 2025. These figures indicate the rapid growth of the tourism sector and the increasing number of visitors.
According to the obtained data, the number of overnight tourist accommodations in EU countries has risen to 3 billion 80 million nights from 61.5 million nights last year, marking a 2% increase compared to the previous year. This shows that a record has been set for overnight accommodations in tourist facilities in EU countries.
The data for 2025 reveals that 49% of tourist accommodations come from international visitors, while 51% are from local travelers. This situation once again proves the diversity of Europe's tourism dynamics.
Of the accommodations made, 63% were in hotels and similar lodging places, 24% were in short-term rental places such as holiday homes, and 13% took place in campgrounds. This distribution points to a European tourism sector that diversifies vacation options.
