According to reports published in the US media, national security officials announced that the allegations of Ukraine carrying out an attack on Russian President Vladimir Putin's official residence are not true.
The Wall Street Journal reported that Ukraine stated it did not target Putin or his properties. Officials emphasized the analyses of the US Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) at this point.
According to the statements, Ukraine's strikes were aimed at military targets in the area where Putin's country house is located, but did not directly target his residence.
Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov alleged on December 29 that Ukraine attempted to attack Putin's official residence in Novgorod with a drone. Following these claims, Lavrov stated that Russia would reconsider its stance on peace negotiations and expressed that Moscow would respond.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated that no attack was carried out on Putin's residence. Additionally, Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha emphasized that Moscow failed to provide convincing evidence to support its allegations.
