Sale of Foreign-Made Drones Banned in the USA

The FCC (Federal Communications Commission) has added foreign-made unmanned aerial systems (UAS) and their critical components to the list of banned products for sale and import throughout the country. In a statement made by the FCC, it was emphasized that these products pose a serious threat to U.S. national security.

Reasons for the Ban

It was noted that the ban was implemented in line with the need to protect the airspace of the USA, which will host major international events such as the FIFA World Cup planned for 2026 and the Olympics in 2028. Additionally, threats posed by cartels, terrorist groups, and foreign governments were also mentioned as influences on this decision.

Status of Validity

It was stated that this decision would not apply to products that had already been purchased in the USA. In a statement made by the U.S. House of Representatives China Communist Party Special Committee, it was expressed that they support this ban.
