In the U.S., consumer confidence has recorded a decline for the third consecutive time in October due to increasing concerns about the economy and the labor market. This situation raises uncertainties for consumers regarding the future.
According to newly released data, the Conference Board Consumer Confidence Index fell to 94.6, down from a revised 95.6 in September, reaching its lowest level since April. The median estimate of economists participating in a Bloomberg survey was set at 93.4.
The expectations index for the next six months decreased to 71.5 in October, marking the lowest level since June. These figures indicate that consumers are more concerned about their economic situation in the short term. However, the sub-index related to current economic conditions showed a slight increase, presenting some optimistic indicators.
