


During a presentation at the TBMM Planning and Budget Commission, the Minister of Treasury and Finance Mehmet Şimşek announced significant news for the agriculture sector. He revealed that a total of 262.3 billion lira in tax revenue will be forgone by 2026 in the agriculture sector.
Şimşek stated that the support provided to farmers and tradespeople will continue to increase. He expressed that for 2026, a total of 626 billion lira has been allocated for agricultural support programs, agricultural investment allocations, agricultural credit supports, and export supports.
Minister Şimşek also emphasized that 1.1 million farmers have been provided with a credit balance of 746 billion lira along with 144 billion lira in Treasury interest/profit share support in the first nine months of 2025. Additionally, 780 thousand tradespeople and artisans have received 282 billion lira in credit balance along with 49 billion lira in Treasury interest support.
With these supports provided to the agriculture sector, Turkey aims to increase agricultural productivity and achieve sustainable growth. More steps are expected to be taken to strengthen agriculture in the coming years.
