Among the largest transactions of the year are Coinbase's $2.9 billion acquisition of Deribit, Kraken's payment of $1.5 billion for the acquisition of NinjaTrader, and Ripple's $1.25 billion purchase of Hidden Road.

New Regulations Proved Effective

This significant increase was also supported by the competition among firms seeking licenses with the enforcement of new compliance rules. A total of 11 crypto firms went public, raising a total of $14.6 billion.
