Mandatory Winter Tire Application Begins Tomorrow!

The Minister of Transport and Infrastructure, Abdulkadir Uraloğlu, announced that this year's mandatory winter tire application will end on April 15. Minister Uraloğlu stated that the winter tire application will come into effect starting tomorrow and emphasized that this application will be mandatory for all commercial vehicles carrying passengers and goods on intercity roads.

The minister recalled in a written statement that the "Regulations on the Mandatory Use of Winter Tires" was published in the Official Gazette on October 4. Uraloğlu expressed that these changes were made to enhance traffic safety during the winter months, noting that winter conditions could adversely affect the driving performance of vehicles.

Pointing out that the use of winter tires is of vital importance due to the winter conditions experienced every year, especially during periods of heavy snowfall and icing, Minister Uraloğlu explained that this provides significant advantages for drivers. He stressed the necessity for drivers to comply with this obligation to ensure a safe journey.

The application is valid not only for commercial vehicles but also for other large vehicles such as trucks and buses. Therefore, it has become essential for businesses and vehicle owners to make the necessary preparations and equip their vehicles with winter tires. Otherwise, the risk of encountering negative situations such as traffic accidents and material damages may increase.

The obligation to use winter tires is regarded as a step towards ensuring road safety as much as it is the responsibility of drivers. Minister Uraloğlu once again called on all drivers to be sensitive to this issue and to take the necessary precautions.
