


The Minister of Transport and Infrastructure, Abdulkadir Uraloğlu, announced the capacity agreement signed between Sri Lanka's leading broadcasting platform Freesat Lanka and TÜRKSAT. Uraloğlu expressed that this agreement is a critical step in the transformation of Turkey's satellite capacity into service exports in the international market.
Minister Uraloğlu shared the details of this agreement realized through Turkey's first domestic and national communication satellite, Türksat 6A. Sri Lanka's 50 television channels will begin broadcasting seamlessly via Türksat 6A within this month. Uraloğlu emphasized that this collaboration is a significant step in the broadcasting field.
Uraloğlu stated that the agreement reinforces Turkey's strength in the international broadcasting market, saying, "This is not just a capacity rental; it is a clear indication of Turkey's power in space and its claim in global broadcasting." Uraloğlu remarked that this success showcases Turkey's competence in the field of space technologies to the entire world.
Uraloğlu noted that Turkish television channels are presented to the global market with a wide coverage area, pointing out that Türksat 6A is not only an export gateway but also a product that carries high technology and brand value. "This agreement highlights the level Türksat has reached in international competition," he added.
Emphasizing that Türksat's satellite export capacity is on the rise, Uraloğlu stated that the strong steps initiated with Sri Lanka will soon bring new collaborations with various countries in the region. He highlighted that these collaborations will enhance strategic opportunities in cultural interaction, digital content production, and media technologies.
