


Turkcell has taken an important step to support the spread of cloud technologies in Turkey through its strategic collaboration with Google Cloud. This partnership includes the infrastructure work and expansion of the data center network for the new Google Cloud region planned to operate in Turkey between 2028 and 2029.
According to publicly announced (KAP) information, Turkcell anticipates making an investment of 1 billion dollars by 2032 within the scope of this collaboration. Following the announcement of the agreement, Turkcell's shares rose by 2.38% to 96.70 TL during trading hours.
Turkcell will operate as an authorized reseller of Google Cloud in Turkey. This situation will accelerate the transition processes of businesses of all sizes to the cloud and help them utilize the advantages of cloud technologies more efficiently. The new cloud region will meet local data hosting requirements and provide greater control over the location of data.
This new cloud region is expected to provide high-performance and low-latency Google Cloud services. It is also stated that advanced capabilities will be provided in the areas of data analytics, application modernization, cybersecurity, and digital business solutions. Turkcell CEO Ali Taha Koç mentioned that they have established a hyper-scale data center and aim to create over 5 billion dollars in economic value annually.
Turkcell plans to double its data center capacity by 2032 compared to current levels. Additionally, the company aims for its data center and cloud revenues to reach six times the current level in USD terms during this period.
