


Turkcell has taken a significant step to support the proliferation of cloud technologies in Turkey through a strategic partnership with Google Cloud. This collaboration encompasses the infrastructure work and expansion of the data center network for a new Google Cloud region planned to operate in Turkey between 2028 and 2029.
According to publicly disclosed information (KAP), Turkcell expects to invest $1 billion by 2032 as part of this partnership. Following the announcement of the agreement, Turkcell's shares rose by 2.38% during trading hours, reaching a level of TL 96.70.
Turkcell will operate as an authorized seller of Google Cloud in Turkey. This situation will accelerate the cloud transition processes for businesses of all sizes across Turkey, helping them utilize the advantages of cloud technologies more efficiently. The new cloud region will meet local data hosting requirements and offer greater control over the location of the data.
This new cloud region is expected to provide high-performance and low-latency Google Cloud services. It has also been stated that it will provide advanced capabilities in the areas of data analytics, application modernization, cybersecurity, and digital business solutions. Turkcell CEO Ali Taha Koç indicated that they have established a hyper-scale data center and aim to create over $5 billion in economic value annually.
Turkcell plans to double its data center capacity by 2032. Additionally, it is targeted that data center and cloud revenues will reach six times their current level in US dollar terms during this period.
