Following the signing of the Public Collective Labor Agreement Framework Protocol on August 2, Türk-İş is taking an important step regarding the minimum wage issue. Hosting educational activities and conferences in collaboration with universities, Türk-İş has begun preparations for the minimum wage discussions that will start in December.
In today's meeting, current issues in working life will be addressed. Subsequently, the Türk-İş Presidents' Council will convene on November 4 at the Confederation Headquarters to discuss many important topics, including the minimum wage.
During the meeting, the reasons behind Türk-İş's decision not to participate in the Minimum Wage Determination Commission will be evaluated. In particular, the reactions to the previous year's determination of a 30% increase resulting in gross 26,005 lira and net 22,104 lira for the minimum wage will be discussed.
Türk-İş President Ergün Atalay stated in a prior announcement, "We have been in an unfair Commission for years. If a fair regulation is not made from this point on, we will not participate in this commission as Türk-İş."
