US President Donald Trump is taking significant steps to control rising food prices. In this context, new trade agreements and customs duty reductions with Latin American countries have come to the forefront.
In a statement made on Thursday, the US will reduce customs duties on essential food items such as beef, bananas, and coffee beans as part of trade agreements to be made with Argentina, Guatemala, El Salvador, and Ecuador.
The Trump administration anticipates that lifting trade barriers in Latin America will enhance the competitiveness of US businesses, and these advantages will be offered to American consumers through retail and wholesale outlets.
The administration is also planning to reduce customs duties on popular products like watches and chocolate in ongoing negotiations with Switzerland.
