Important Partnership Between TotalEnergies and Google

TotalEnergies (TTE) has taken a significant step towards supplying renewable energy to tech giant Google (GOOG) for its data centers in Ohio. The company has signed a 15-year agreement, under which TotalEnergies will provide certified renewable electricity from the Montpelier Solar Power Plant in Ohio at an annual rate of 1.5 terawatt-hours (TWh).

Moreover, this collaboration supports Google's strategy to integrate new carbon-free energy into its energy networks. Stéphane Michel, the head of TotalEnergies’ Gas, Renewable Energy, and Electricity division, emphasized the significance of the agreement, stating, “This agreement showcases TotalEnergies’ capacity to meet the energy needs of major tech companies by leveraging its integrated renewable and flexible energy portfolio. Additionally, it has the potential to contribute to our target of 12% profitability in the electricity sector.”
