Söke district of Aydın has implemented urgent measures by the Söke District Directorate of Agriculture and Forestry due to the risk of avian influenza stemming from migratory birds. With the increase in risk, the district has entered into an effective state of alert to prevent the spread of avian influenza.
In a statement from the Söke District Directorate of Agriculture and Forestry, it was noted that "Due to the risk of avian influenza from migratory birds, access to open areas for all poultry animals has been restricted." Accordingly, it was emphasized that poultry raised in open areas should be moved to closed shelters.
Additionally, it was stated that wild birds obtained from hunting activities should not be allowed to come into contact, whether alive or dead, with poultry. Not feeding in open areas and keeping feeders and waterers out of the external environment are also critically important measures for animal health. It was expressed that these measures announced to producers must be implemented without interruption.
