Shin Kong Security Co., Ltd. and its visionary leader President Richard Wu achieved a significant milestone at the Asia-Pacific Entrepreneurship Awards 2025 Taiwan Chapter. President Wu won the Master Entrepreneur award, while the company was honored with the Corporate Excellence award. These prestigious accolades reflect the transformative growth of the company and President Wu's pioneering leadership in redefining Taiwan's security industry.
President Wu played a crucial role in transforming Shin Kong Security into a modern and AI-powered surveillance and logistics platform. Under his leadership, the company now manages 3.8 million security devices among 100,000 customers. The journey from founding Compulsion Games in Montreal to its acquisition by Microsoft has provided him with both startup agility and corporate leadership experience. Inspired by the gaming industry, he introduced AI systems that enhance human capabilities, transforming Shin Kong Security from a traditional workforce-dependent operation to a modern, technology-focused entity. His innovative strategies improved service quality, streamlined operations, and illustrated how traditional industries can responsibly embrace innovation.
Founded in 1980, Shin Kong Security has been a trusted leader in Taiwan's security sector for over 40 years. The company offers AI-powered solutions to commercial, public, and residential clients, with a mission to create safer, smarter, and more sustainable communities. Driven by a vision of “dual transformation” integrating technological innovation with sustainable development, it prioritizes digitalization, environmental, social, and governance (ESG) initiatives, and talent development to create lasting value for stakeholders.
Beyond its core business, Shin Kong Security demonstrates a deep commitment to corporate social responsibility. Since 2007, the An-Shin Classroom initiative has been teaching critical skills such as disaster preparedness, fraud prevention, and bullying prevention strategies by providing security and environmental education to schools and communities. In 2024 alone, this program reached 1,830 participants through 31 sessions, with employees serving as “security ambassadors” to inform communities and foster a culture of compassion. Additionally, through the SKS Community Care Assistant Foundation, it supports intergenerational connections and collaborates with young farmers to produce organic rice, donating 27,600 kilograms of rice to needy families since 2015.
This double award at APEA 2025 reflects not only Shin Kong Security's legacy of trust and innovation but also Richard Wu's transformative leadership. Their deep commitments to advanced technology, sustainable practices, and societal well-being are shaping the future of security services and making Taiwan a safer and smarter place.
