Take-Two Interactive CEO Strauss Zelnick states that Generative Artificial Intelligence will create more job opportunities in the video game industry. Zelnick said during a speech at The Paley Center for Media on October 17, "This technology will not reduce employment; rather, it will increase it."

According to a study, as of this year, 10% of game developers have been laid off. Additionally, 30% of surveyed developers believe that artificial intelligence has negative effects on the gaming industry, and this figure has increased by 12% compared to last year.

Microsoft, as the owner of the video game console Xbox, laid off 9,000 employees in July, with many of those cuts coming from the gaming division. Some of the laid-off employees had been trained in artificial intelligence to create new levels for the mobile game Candy Crush.

Zelnick emphasized that AI applications will not replace human creativity. He stated, "Artificial intelligence is a tool, but creativity belongs to humans," noting that productivity has increased, but this does not replace human skills. Brian Fargo, founder of inXile Entertainment, expressed concern that artificial intelligence could lead to job losses, while Electronic Arts announced plans to use AI to support new developments.
