Former President Donald Trump's nominee for the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC), Mike Selig, will attend a Senate confirmation hearing on November 19, 2025. Selig currently leads the Crypto Task Force within the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC). His nomination comes following the withdrawal of former CFTC commissioner Brian Quintenz.

If confirmed, Selig will oversee the CFTC and play a crucial role in the process of finalizing a legislative proposal that could empower Congress to regulate crypto spot trading.
