The Approval Process for Mike Selig at CFTC Has Begun

Former U.S. President Donald Trump's nominee for the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC), Mike Selig, will enter the Senate confirmation hearing on November 19, 2025. Selig currently heads the Cryptocurrency Task Force within the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC). Selig's nomination came after the withdrawal of former CFTC commissioner Brian Quintenz.

If confirmed, Selig will lead the CFTC and play a critical role in the process of finalizing a legislative proposal that could authorize Congress to regulate crypto spot trading.
