Mike Selig's CFTC Approval Process Has Begun

Former President Donald Trump's nominee for the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC), Mike Selig, will appear for a Senate confirmation hearing on November 19, 2025. Selig currently heads the Crypto Task Force within the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC). His nomination came after former CFTC commissioner Brian Quintenz stepped down.

If approved, Selig will lead the CFTC and play a critical role in the process of Congress finalizing a bill that could grant authority for spot trading of cryptocurrencies.
