The Approval Process for Mike Selig at CFTC Has Begun

Former US President Donald Trump's nominee for the U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC), Mike Selig, will enter the Senate confirmation hearing on November 19, 2025. Selig currently leads the Crypto Task Force within the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC). Selig's nomination came after the withdrawal of former CFTC commissioner Brian Quintenz.

If confirmed, Selig will oversee the CFTC and play a critical role in the process as Congress finalizes a bill that could grant authority for crypto spot trading.
